Have your say on the Social Care Green Paper

September 2009

Social care green paperIn the social care green paper ‘Shaping the Future of Care Together', published in July, the Government set out plans for creating a National Care Service for England.

Although Mencap supports the visions of the green paper, it is highly disappointed that the government has failed to provide clearer guidance on how it will provide better services for a growing population of people with a learning disability in a green paper that focuses almost exclusively on older people.

Mencap believes that it is more important than ever to tell the Government about the social care problems faced by people with a learning disability and their families.

The PMLD Network is also responding to the adult social care green paper consultation.

We will tell the government what changes we think it should make to improve care and support for people with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD) and their families.

We would very much like your views to feed into our response.

Please let us know what top 3 changes you would tell the government to make to improve care and support for people with PMLD and their families.

Please email us with your answer to this question at pmldnetwork@mencap.org.uk

Please also tell us if you would be interested in taking part in an interview where we could find out about your views in more detail.
